Terriers Breeze By Blue Devils, 82-48

New Britain, CT - The Terrier women's basketball team went on a 19-0 run to close out the first half and never looked by, easily handling Central Connecticut, 82-48, this afternoon in New Britain.
With the Blue Devils trailing by four with less than six minutes remaining in the first half, sophomore guard Katie Terhune (Port Murray, NJ) scored 10 of her game-high 19 points to put the Terriers up, 43-20, at the break. Terhune was one of five Terriers to score in double figures.
Kim Kopecko scored 10 of her team-high 12 points as CCSU cut the Terrier lead to 22 with 9:19 remaining in the game.
But the Terriers answered with their own 19-7 run.
Sophomore forward Marisa Moseley (Longmeadow, MA) sunk two jumpers from the top of the key and the Terriers hit 9-of-13 from the free-throw line to close out the game with a 34-point advantage, their largest margin of victory of the season.
Alternating between a full-court trap and a half-court zone defense, the Terriers forced a season-high 34 turnovers while snagging a season-high 19 steals.
Senior guard Dia Dufault (Malone, NY), who left the game midway through the second half with a sprained foot, had a game- and season-high five steals while adding 10 points.
Moseley finished the game with 13 points with a game-high four blocks while sophomore guard Courtney Jones (Lafayette Hills, PA) chipped in a season-high 10 points.
Back in the starting line-up after missing the Dec. 21st game against Saint Joseph's with an eye injury, junior guard Alison Argentieri (Hornell, NY) scored 11 points and dished a game-high five assists.
The Blue Devils edged the Terriers on the boards, 42-38. Terhune and sophomore forward Ashley Carr (Milwaukee, WI) led both teams with seven rebounds a piece.
The Terriers improve to 7-3 with the victory and host 23rd-ranked Tulane on Wednesday, Jan. 2. CCSU remains winless, falling to 0-10 on the season.
