Terhune Receives MVP Honor at Annual Basketball Banquet

BOSTON - America East All-Conference First Team selection Katie Terhune (Port Murray, NJ) was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2001-02 Boston University women's basketball team at the Terriers annual banquet on Sunday (April 14).
As a sophomore, Terhune led the Terriers to their first winning season in seven years, scoring 501 points, the third-highest single-season point total in program history. Her 18.6 points per game ranked first in the league and 34th in the nation. The guard also led the team in free throw percentage, steals, and three-point percentage.
Freshman forward Larissa Parr (Eau Claire, WI) was named the Most Improved Player by her coaches. After coming off the bench for the first 15 games, Parr started 12 of the Terriers' final 13 games, scoring in double figures eight times. B.U. improved to 8-4 with Parr in the starting line-up. She finished the season tied for second on the team in scoring, averaging 8.0 points per game.
Senior guard Dia Dufault (Malone, NY) received the Renee Doctor award, presented to the player who best epitomizes a Terrier. Dufault was tied for second on the team in steals with 47, tied for fifth on the team in rebounding, and sixth on the team in scoring. Her 912 career points are the 16th highest total in B.U. history.
The Terriers' floor general, point guard Alison Argentieri (Hornell, NY) was honored with the Coaches Award. The junior led the team and was second in the conference in assists with 90. She connected on a team-high 44 three-pointers, the second-highest single season total in program history.
Earning the Rebounding Award, Adrienne Norris (Delafield, WI) became the first rookie in 12 years to lead B.U. in rebounding, averaging 6.4 boards a game. The All-Rookie Team selection, Norris had a career-high 13 rebounds in her first collegiate game against South Florida.
Sophomore forward Marisa Moseley (Longmeadow, MA) was honored with the Defensive Award, leading the team and ranking second in the America East with 34 blocks.
The Terriers return 11 players including all five starters for the 2002-03 season.
