Harrington Named First Team Regional All-America

Hubbard, Banuelos Earn Second Team Honors

Boston - Senior goalkeeper Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, NH), who posted career bests in goals against average, save percentage and shutouts for the Terrier field hockey team, has been named a First Team Regional All-American. It is the first such honor for Harrington, who has been a Second Team America East All-Conference recipient three times, including the 2002 season. In addition, junior midfielders Celeste Hubbard (Detroit, MI), and Dalinda Banuelos (Escondido, CA) were named Second Team Regional All-Americans.
The Boston University field hockey team recently completed its 2002 season with a 3-1 loss to Drexel in the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament. The loss dropped the Terriers' final record to 11-10, while they were 2-3 in the America East.

Harrington, who started in 64 straight games for the Terriers, completed her collegiate career in fine fashion. She posted a career-best 1.33 goals against average, along with a personal bests with a .808 save percentage and 4.5 shutouts. Her goals against average was third-best in the conference, while her save percentage was good for second place. She appeared in all but 44 minutes for the Terriers this season.
For her career, Harrington finished with a record of 40-31-0 with a 1.65 goals against average, .777 save percentage, and 12.5 shutouts. She ranks third on B.U.'s all-time goalkeeper list in both career saves (436), and wins (40).
Hubbard, who led the team and was sixth in the America East with 11 goals and 27 points, earned her first Regional All-America honor. She was also named a First Team America East All-Conference selection in 2002. In 55 career games, she has 15 goals and six assists for 36 points.

Banuelos, like Hubbard, is a first time Regional All-America honoree. She, too, was a First Team America East All-Conference selection this season, scoring 10 goals and 4 assists for 24 points, good for second on the team and seventh in the conference. In 40 career games, Banuelos has 12 goals and 10 assists for 34 points.
