November 24, 2003 | Field Hockey
BOSTON - Senior forward Celeste Hubbard (Detroit, Mich.) became the first Boston University field hockey player to earn national All-America honors in three seasons when she was named to the 2003 STX/NFHCA Division I All-America Third Team on Monday, Nov. 24.
The award comes a week after Hubbard and senior teammates Dalinda Banuelos (Escondido, Calif.) and Lindsey Domers (Voorhees, N. J.) earned STX/NFHCA Northeast Region All-Region Team honors. Hubbard was a First Team selection, while Domers and Banuelos were named to the Second Team.
Hubbard is the first Terrier All-American since Robyn Kenney was a Second Team selection and Jane Rogers earned Third Team accolades after B. U.'s America East Championship season in 2000.
Hubbard was also honored this season with an America East First Team All-Conference award, the second time in the last two seasons she was named to the First Team.
Hubbard led the Terriers in every offensive category this season. She led the team in goals (13), assists (10), points (36), and shots (74), and was tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with two. She tallied three hat tricks during the season, scoring three goals and one assist twice while posting one three-goal, two-assist game.
This season, Boston University finished fourth in the America East Conference with a 9-11 record.
