COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Tiffany Snow, a Boston University field hockey assistant coach, has been added to the roster of the U. S. National Team following individual team trials in Virginia Beach, Va.
The National Team is in preparations for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, to be held March 19-28 in Auckland, New Zealand. The U. S. women need to have a strong showing at the Qualifier to earn a spot in the 2004 Olympics.
Snow, a native of Escondido, Calif., was one of three newcomers to the squad. She was joined by Angie Loy, like Snow, an offensive threat and recent graduate of Old Dominion, and Kelly Baril, a three-time All-America goalkeeper during her career at Princeton.
A member of the 2004 U. S. Under-23 Team, Snow was a two-time All-America selection at ODU, where she earned the Honda Award in 2002 as the nation's top collegiate field hockey player. In her collegiate career, she scored 71 goals, including 30 during her senior year. In addition, she led the Monarchs to the 2000 NCAA National Championship.
The U. S. Team is tentatively scheduled to play a series of matches with Ireland and Canada on Jan. 10-18 in Stanford, Calif.
In 2003, Snow completed her first season as an assistant coach at Boston University. The Terriers finished fourth in the America East Conference with a 9-11 record.
