Terriers Rewarded For Perfect Regular-Season Run

BOSTON - Following a pair of wins that clinched the America East women's lacrosse regular-season title, Terrier sophomore midfielder Alyssa Trudel (Shoreham, VT), sophomore goalkeeper Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, MD), and freshman attacker Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD) were honored with weekly awards.
Trudel was named Co-Player of the week, along with Vermont's Vanessa Cox, Sheridan earned her fourth weekly honor as she was named Defender of the Week, while Lewis received her first-ever award as Rookie of the Week.
Trudel tallied nine goals and five assists as the Terriers extended their current win streak to a program-record 10 games. Trudel tied a career-high with eight points off four goals and four assists in B.U.'s 17-1 win over Vermont on Friday, April 25. Trudel had a game-high six points off five goals and one assist as the Terriers improved to 5-0 in the league with a 13-8 win over New Hampshire on Sunday, April 27. Trudel also had six caused turnovers, four draw controls, and two ground balls in the two games.
A four-time Player of the Week honoree this season, Trudel leads America East in scoring (72 points) and assists (35) and is fourth in the league in goals (37). Trudel also leads the team in draw controls (46) and ground balls (36) and is tied for first on the team in caused turnovers (30).
Sheridan picked up a pair of wins last week to improve her season record to 12-4. Against New Hampshire, she made a game-high 12 saves while allowing just four goals in each half. In the win over Vermont, she made three stops while allowing just one score.
Sheridan's goals-against-average has dipped to a league-best 7.04, while her save percentage also leads the league at .570.
Lewis totaled five goals and six assists to earn the first weekly award of her career. Against Vermont, Lewis had a career-high seven points off four goals and three assists. Against New Hampshire, Lewis had a goal and a game-high three assists. She also contributed four draw controls and three ground balls in the two games.
Entering the post-season, Lewis ranks seventh in the league and third on the team in scoring with 42 points. She is also third on the team in goals (31) and assists (11) and is fifth on the team in draw controls (19).
Lewis is part of a highly potent freshman class that has accounted for 108 of the Terriers' 209 goals.
Top-seeded B.U. (12-4, 5-0) hosts fourth-seeded Stony Brook in the America East semifinals on Thursday, May 1, at 1:00 p.m.
