BOSTON - Tracey Drown, a former All-American at UMass, has been named assistant coach of women's lacrosse at Boston University, as announced by head coach Liz Robertshaw. Drown served as an assistant coach at her alma mater for the past two seasons.
“I am excited to welcome Tracey to the Terrier family," said Robertshaw. "As an integral part of the coaching staff at UMass over the last two seasons, she brings with her a wealth of experience that will benefit BU lacrosse as we look to continue to build on our national success."
Drown was a Third-Team All-American as a senior in 2004, leading the Minutewomen in both with goals (47) and assists (17). Her goal total was the second highest in a single-season in UMass history. She played her freshman year at Towson University before tallying 81 points in three seasons with the Minutewomen. The Nashua, N.H., native was also a First-Team All-Atlantic 10 and All-Region selection.
Drown excelled in the classroom as well, being named to the UMass Athletic Director's and Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Rolls every semester. She earned her bachelor's degree in legal studies and political science in 2004.
A graduate of Nashua High School, she received All-America honors in 2000 and was a three-time All-New Hampshire selection.
"Tracey’s excellence on the playing field and in the classroom proves she will be a great role model for our players," added Robertshaw. "Her positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to coaching will be a great fit for us as well.”
