"I couldn’t be more excited about our 2007 schedule," said first-year head coach Liz Robertshaw. "I think its great blend of new competition and familiar opponents. We have always made it a point to include nationally ranked teams on our schedule in order to challenge ourselves and really showcase what BU lacrosse is all about. This year, with the addition of Northwestern, Loyola and Stanford to an already challenging line-up, is no different."
The rest of the Terriers' non-conference schedule includes home contests against Hofstra and local rivals Boston College and Harvard in addition to road tilts at George Mason and Yale.
BU will be aiming for its third consecutive America East regular-season crown this spring. The conference slate on Saturday, March 31, with a home game against UMBC, who shared the regular-season title with the Terriers last spring.
The Terriers will also welcome Albany and Binghamton to Nickerson during the America East schedule, while making trip to face Stony Brook, New Hampshire and Vermont.
"We’re a new team across the board this year," added Robertshaw. 'We will continue the traditions of BU lacrosse and we want put our mark on building upon the successes of past Terrier squads. I am eager to see what we can do both in the conference and on the national scene."
BU will be looking to advance to the NCAAs for the third straight year, as the the two-time defending America East champion is coming off a 2006 season in which it posted a 15-5 record.
