HANOVER, N.H. - Led by a career-high seven-point effort from senior Pam Spuehler, the No. 20 Boston University field hockey team secured its third straight win with an 8-3 road triumph against Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field. Junior Holly Wiles added two goals for the Terriers, who improve to 6-2 on the year.
Spuehler tallied a pair of goals and three assists, while senior Hayley Hamada had a goal and an assist. Senior Hadley Adams, junior Tamara Becker and sophomore Gabby Hajjar each had a goal apiece. Becker's goal was the first of her career.
Sophomore Suus Dekker had a career-high two assists while classmate Haley Robinson also recorded a helper.
The Terriers erased first-half deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 and used Wiles' first goal of the day to take a 3-2 lead heading into the break.
BU went on to score five unanswered goals, resulting in a 6-2 lead following a tally by Hamada in the 44th minute.
"This was a good way to end a great weekend of hockey for us," added Starr. "Dartmouth is always tough, especially on their home field."
The Terriers outshot the Big Green, 26-9, including 18-3 in the second half. BU earned seven penalty corners to Dartmouth's six.
"We took what was given to us on the attack, and did so with numbers and speed," said head coach Sally Starr. "I'm very pleased with the team's resiliency in the early stages."
Freshman goalkeeper Kim Kastuk made three saves while earning her fifth win of the season. Sedlacek made 10 stops for the Big Green.
BU will look to extend its win streak next weekend when it travels to Charlottesville, Va., to face Longwood and Virginia. The Terriers will face Longwood on Saturday (Sept. 22) before taking on the Cavaliers the following day.
