The Boston University lacrosse team had four of its players honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Friday, as senior McKinley Curro and juniors Rachel Collins and Corcoran Downey were named to the Northeast All-Region First Team and senior Traci Landy earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team.
Curro received first-team accolades for the second time in as many seasons while Landy was a second-team pick for the third straight year. Collins and Downey earned all-region honors for the first time in their careers.
All four Terrier standouts were named to the America East All-Conference First Team earlier this month before leading BU to its sixth straight conference title.
Curro tallied a team-high 67 points this season on 50 goals and 17 assists. A 2009 Third Team All-American, Curro finishes her BU career with 219 points (136g, 83a), good for seventh in school history. She led the conference in points and scored multiple goals in 12 of her final 13 contests.
The team's leader this season in ground balls (46) and draw controls (46), Collins had a breakout junior year and tallied 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists in addition to 20 caused turnovers. She was named the Most Outstanding Player of this year's America East Championship.
Downey, who was a unanimous selection to the All-Conference First Team, established herself as one of the top defenders in the nation and led the Terriers in caused turnovers with 27. She also recorded 35 ground balls, 17 draw controls and four goals.
Landy finished her stellar career with the second-most goals in school history (190) after putting up a conference-best 53 - including five game-winners - during her senior campaign. She also registered 38 draw controls, 10 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers on the year. Her 220 career points rank sixth in the BU record book.
