
Lacrosse Runs at Boston's Race for the Cure

BOSTON - The Boston University lacrosse team participated in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sat., Sept. 25 in Boston. BU raised $3,360 toward the fight against breast cancer while 2,300 runners and more than 8,000 total participants helped contribute toward the effort. In total, the event raised $560,934 for breast cancer research.
In addition to raising money to eradicate breast cancer, the race also focused on educating men and women on the value of early detection, promoting health awareness and teaching lessons in cancer survival. Numerous cancer survivors were recognized during the event, including at the Pink Parade where survivors led race participants to the start line.
Senior Mandy Rogers was the Terriers' top finisher in the 5K race, securing a 79th-place finish and a top-10 showing on the women's side. Freshman Sydney Godett and senior Rachel Collins also garnered top-100 finishes for the Terriers.
