The Terriers built a 37-18 lead after the first half thanks to a 16-2 BU run over the span of six and a half minutes. Holding a 14-10 lead with 12:30 to go in the half, Callahan ignited the run with a 3-pointer while the Terriers’ defense held the Black Bears without a field goal for over eight minutes. BU built its lead to 30-12 before Maine got back on the board with a layup by Wood with 4:47 to play in the half.
Following a technical foul assessed to Maine’s bench, Callahan pushed BU’s lead to 32-14 with a pair of free throws and Courtney Anderson responded on the other end with a jumper. Mikaela Gustafsson then brought the deficit down to 15 points for the Black Bears but the Terriers closed out the half with a layup from Alford and a pair of free throws from Agboola to take a 37-18 lead into the break.
Agboola scored the first seven points of the second half for the Terriers before Woods notched Maine’s first basket at the 17:43 mark.
