BOSTON – The Boston University women’s lacrosse team concludes the regular season on Sunday (May 5) when the Terriers travel to Durham, N.C., to take on No. 7/10 Duke. Game time is set for 12 p.m. at Koskinen Stadium.
BU (6-9, 2-4 America East) returns to the field for the first time since suffering an 18-17 setback at Cornell last Saturday. BU and Cornell were tied, 12-12, at the half, but the Terriers allowed four unanswered goals by the Big Red in the second half for Cornell to rake a lead it did not relinquish.
The Terriers and the Blue Devils have faced off only once before back in the 2010 season. Duke defeated BU, 10-6, in Durham, N.C. The Blue Devils are the second member of the ACC that the Terriers will face this season, as BU lost to Boston College, 12-9, on March 20.
Ranking No. 7 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll and No. 10 in the deBeer Media Poll, the Blue Devils are the sixth ranked opponent that the Terriers will face this season. BU has gone 2-3 against top 20 opponents with a 9-8 overtime win over then-No. 14/12 Massachusetts on Feb. 27, and a 16-11 triumph over then-No. 15 Ohio State on March 16. Both of the victories occurred at Nickerson Field.
The Terriers are led by three-time America East All-Conference First Team honoree senior Danielle Etrasco, who leads BU in goals (57), assists (20) and points (77) and ranks second in the nation with 3.80 goals per game. Classmate Kristen Mogavero is second on the squad with 41 points off of 39 goals and a pair of assists while sophomore Lindsay Weiner ranks second on the team with 16 assists.
Etrasco also owns a team-high 42 draw controls while All-Conference Second Team member freshman Jill Horka ranks second with 31. Horka leads the Terriers with 22 caused turnovers while also collecting 25 ground balls.

Duke (11-5, 2-3 ACC) welcomes the Terriers after the Blue Devils suffered a 10-7 loss to Virginia in the ACC tournament quarterfinals which snapped a two-game winning streak. The Blue Devils average 12.56 goals per game while limiting opponents to 8.88 goals per game.
