
Terriers Head To Lehigh For Saturday Showdown

TODAY'S GAME
• The Terriers travel to Lehigh for a Patriot League matchup with the Mountain Hawks on Saturday.
• First draw is set for 1 p.m. at Ulrich Sports Complex.
TERRIER TIDBITS
• Two Terriers rank in the top-25 nationally. Junior Jill Horka is 25th in draw controls, averaging 3.89 per game, good enough for third in the Patriot League. Sophomore Caroline Megan also ranks 25th in saves per game, averaging 8.3 per contest which ranks second in the conference. Meegan has ranked in the top-10 in either saves per game or save percentage since March 4.
• Mallory Collins had a career milestone against Navy, scoring her 100th point with a goal against the Mids. She is the only active player to reach 100 career points and is the team's point and goal leader, averaging 2.70 goals per game, the fourth-best average in the conference.
• As a team, the Terriers have some of the best goaltending in the league. The Terriers average 8.7 saves per game (second in the Patriot League) and post a .463 save percentage, the third-best mark in the conference.
• Horka reached a career milestone against Massachusetts, recording an assist to total 50 career points. She is one of 3 current players to have 50+ points.
• After making it to the PL Championship Game last season, the Terriers were again picked to finish third in the conference this season. BU was a No. 3 seed in the tournament with the 3rd-best regular season record (5-3).
• 2014 All-Patriot League First Team honoree Horka, who led BU last season with 29 goals and was second on the team with 35 points, was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team. In addition to her offensive output, Horka led BU with 46 draw controls and 24 caused turnovers in 2014.
• Senior Lindsay Weiner, a 2014 All-League Second Team selection, was named a captain along with classmate Siobhan McCarthy. Weiner was last year's point and assist leader, totaling 42 points including 20 assists, the only Terrier to reach double-digit helpers last season.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
• Lehigh is 7-5 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. They are currently sitting in fifth behind Boston University in the Patriot League standings.
• While the Mountain Hawks are in the middle of the pack in scoring, they lead the conference in caused turnovers per game, averaging 10 per game, which also ranks ninth in the nation. They also rank second in fewest turnovers per game, averaging just under 14 per contest. Their solid defense is also exemplified by their low goals against average (8.25) and low saves per game (5.17).
• Kendall Garden leads the conference in caused turnovers, averaging 1.83 per game, which ranks 19th among Division I players.
• Lehigh is led by Allison LaBeau and Carli Sukonik, who have 38 and 36 points on the year, respectfully. Sukonic leads the team with 32 goals while LeBeau leads the team with 11 assists. The pair has each scored a PL-high six goals in a game this season, the only school with multiple players to attain that benchmark in a game this year.
• Taylor Tvedt has started all 12 games in goal and has a .380 save percentage and 7.90 goals against average, which ranks second among all Patriot League players and 15th nationally.
BU VS. LEHIGH
• The Terriers are 2-1 all-time against the Mountain Hawks. The teams met for the first time in 1999, a contest that BU won, but the pair didn't meet again until last season.
• BU and Lehigh split decisions last year, with the Mountain Hawks claiming an overtime victory during the regular season but BU took a decisive 14-9 win in the Patriot League quarterfinal round at home.
LAST TIME OUT
• BU came back to defeat Lafayette at home last Saturday, 14-11. The Terriers trailed until Mallory Collins scored the go-ahead goal midway though the second half.
• Avery Donahoe scored the first goal of her career, which eventually became the game-winner. Collins led the team with four goals and an assist--her first of the year.
