BOSTON - After three dedicated seasons with the Terriers, Kim Hillier was elevated to associate head coach of the women’s lacrosse team, head coach Liz Robertshaw and athletic director Drew Marrochello announced on Tuesday.
“Kim has been actively involved in every facet of our program since the fall of 2012,” Robertshaw said. “Her work ethic, passion and commitment to Boston University Lacrosse have been essential to our players’ individual successes and our team’s growth. Our program is so fortunate to have her on staff and this promotion is extremely well-deserved."
In her new role, Hillier will be even more involved in player development, both on and off the field including academic support, community outreach activities, and mentoring. Hillier also becomes the coordinator of the Terrier midfield and draw units and will continue to fulfill her responsibilities with recruiting, compliance, team management and on-field coaching.
Hillier has been coaching lacrosse since 2003 when she was both the head coach of the Long Island Elite Yellow Jackets and director of Long Islands Hornets lacrosse. Her first collegiate position was as an assistant coach at LIU Brooklyn, where she stayed until her hiring at Stony Brook in 2011.
The 2007 graduate of Hofstra was a four-year starter for the Pride and finished her career as the school’s all-time leader in assists (82) and second in points scored (215). She was a two-time All-American and four-time All-CAA and IWLCA All-Region honoree and was a member of the Colonial Athletic Association’s Silver Anniversary Team in women’s lacrosse. After graduation, she went on to compete for the U.S. National Team.
