
Hammel Tabbed Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The final Patriot League weekly awards of the field hockey season were announced on Monday and junior back Ally Hammel of 21st-ranked Boston University has been named the Corvais Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year.
Hammel and the Terrier defense limited Bucknell to just four shots, including only two on goal, in a 1-0 victory in the regular-season finale on Saturday to complete a perfect 6-0 record in conference play.
On Tuesday, Hammel recorded a defensive save in BU's 2-1 setback against No. 16 Harvard.
The Preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, Hammel helped BU allow only four goals during league play, resulting in an incredible 0.67 goals-against average.
BU is hosting the Patriot League tournament for the third straight year and will open the bracket on Friday (Nov. 3) at noon when they host fourth-seeded Holy Cross in the semifinals.
