
Terrier Trio Receives Academic All-Patriot League Honors

After excelling in the classroom and helping Boston University post a perfect 6-0 record in conference play, a program-record three Terriers have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Field Hockey Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Senior co-captains Grace Boston and Kali Shumock and junior goalkeeper Kathleen Keegan earned three of the 11 spots on this year's team, marking the most honorees BU has ever had. These three join Ellie Landsman (2016), Rachel Coll (2015), Hester van der Laan (2015) as Terriers who have received this accolade.
To be eligible for an Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
Shumock, who was named to the All-Patriot League First Team on Tuesday, enters the postseason tied for the league lead in assists with nine and has added three goals for career-best 15 points. She holds a 3.51 GPA with a major in health science in Sargent College and a minor in public health.
Boston, who has a 3.61 GPA in speech, language and hearing sciences in Sargent College, is second on this year's team in scoring with 16 points on seven goals and two assists.
Keegan carries a 3.66 GPA in business management & administration in the Questrom School of Business and leads all Patriot League goalkeepers in goals-against average with a 1.42 in addition to a .727 save percentage that ranks third.
