United Soccer Coaches announced on Thursday three recipients of the association's 2017 Long-Term Service awards for youth, high school and college soccer. The awards are presented annually to members who have exhibited a career of contributions at their level of the sport and a continued commitment of service to the association.
Feldman, who recently completed her 23rd season at the helm of the Terriers, has been a member of United Soccer Coaches since 1985. Feldman is among the top 20 winningest active coaches in women's college soccer as she holds a 389-161-53 career mark and is 297-142-44 during her tenure at BU.
A United Soccer Coaches Academy staff member and instructor, Feldman was the 2010 recipient of the Mike Berticelli Excellence in Coaching Education Award and holds a USSF "B" License, and has received her Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA. In addition, Feldman has chaired numerous United Soccer Coaches committees to support the association's annual Convention, as well as the regional and national awards and rankings program.
The Bill Jeffrey Award, recognizing long-term service to United Soccer Coaches and intercollegiate soccer, is named for the former Penn State coach who played a major role in shaping soccer and the association. Jeffrey was the coach of Penn State for 26 seasons, winning 10 national collegiate championships, and is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Each year, United Soccer Coaches presents this award to a person who has raised intercollegiate soccer to new heights through his or her long-term dedication to the game.
The three honorees will be presented their awards at the annual United Soccer Coaches Awards Banquet on Jan. 19 in Philadelphia during the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Convention.
