
Terriers Welcome Northeastern for Home Opener Thursday

BOSTON - Following a two-game road trip to open the season, the Boston University women's soccer team will take Nickerson Field for its home opener on Thursday. Aug. 24 against cross-town rival Northeastern. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

- The Terriers have dominated on their home turf, posting a 165-36-19 all-time record.

- The reigning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year posted one of the most accomplished seasons in program history on the backline last year, earning NSCAA All-Region First Team and Patriot League First Team honors.
- A two-time captain, she is the first Terrier to be named to the Women's MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List since Marisha Schumacher-Hodge in 2007.
- Head coach Nancy Feldman is in her 23rd season in guiding the Terriers and begins her 30th season as a head women's soccer coach at the collegiate level.
- Feldman has posted a 287-137-41 (.664) mark during her tenure at BU and owns a 379-157-50 (.692) career record.
- In NCAA history entering the 2017 season, she ranks No. 10 all-time in career wins and No. 23 all-time in career winning percentage.

- Junior Hannah Rosenblatt led the team with 30 points and 13 goals last season and joined Lopiccolo on the Preseason All-CAA list along with senior Kayla Cappuzoo and junior Nathalie Nidetch.
- BU is 11-6-1 all-time against its cross-town rival, though the Huskies have taken the past four matchups.
- BU returns to Nickerson Field for the first matchup of a doubleheader with the men's team on Sunday. The women will open the day with a 4 p.m. showdown against Hofstra before the men's squad hosts Boston College in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
