Women's Basketball Selected Ninth in PL Preseason Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Entering its sixth season as a member of the Patriot League, the Boston University women's basketball was predicted to finish ninth overall in the league's annual preseason poll, released Thursday afternoon.
Bucknell ws named the league's preseason favorite, earning 154 points leading the way with 14 first-place votes. Defending PL champion American followed with 137 points and earned two first-place votes, while Loyola Maryland earned four nominations for a first-place finish and claimed 129 points overall. Lehigh (91), Navy (91), Holy Cross (81), Army West Point (75), Lafayette (63), BU (56) and Colgate (23) rounded out the poll.
Voting for the Patriot League women's basketball preseason poll, player of the year and All-League team was conducted by League head coaches and sports information directors. Neither group was permitted to vote for their own team or student-athletes.
Head coach Marisa Mosely will enter her first season at the helm of the program, while eight Terriers return to the lineup, and four freshmen will look to make an impact. BU posted a 10-17 record a season ago and fell to Lafayette in the Patriot League tournament opening round.
