
Keegan, Hammel Receive Patriot League Weekly Accolades

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After helping No. 24 Boston University complete another perfect 6-0 conference season, seniors Kathleen Keegan and Ally Hammel have been named the Patriot League Goalkeeper and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office on Monday.
After honoring their senior class on Friday, the Terriers topped Holy Cross, 2-1, to go undefeated in Patriot League play for the third time in four seasons. BU closed its regular season on Sunday with a hard-fought, 1-0 loss at No. 13 Boston College.
Hammel provided the late game-winner against the Crusaders, scoring with 5:25 left in regulation to finish the regular season with 17 points on six goals and five assists.
Keegan stopped six of the eight shots she faced on the weekend, highlighted by an impressive six-save performance against the Eagles on Sunday.
The senior duo helped limit the Crusaders to just one shot on goal on Friday before limiting BC to just 10 total shots on Sunday.
This marks the second time Keegan and Hammel has received their respective weekly PL award this season.
For the fourth straight season, BU will host the Patriot League tournament, beginning with the semifinals on Friday (Nov. 2) whe the top-seeded Terriers take on fourth-seeded Lafayette at 11:30 a.m.
