Field Hockey Falls at Bryant, 4-1

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Boston University field hockey team dropped a 4-1 contest at Bryant on Friday at Cowen Field.
Graduate student Maddie Hudson scored her fourth goal of the season and freshman Tiger Fellner earned her first collegiate point with an assist.
Bryant built a 3-0 lead by halftime and quickly responded to Hudson's goal in the third quarter before securing the win.
BU moves to 2-5 on the season while Bryant improves to 4-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bryant was strong out ot the gate and quickly created scoring chances while drawing corners.
- On its third corner of the game, Bryant got on the board exactly eight minutes in as Callie Caito found the left side of the cage from the middle of the circle.
- The Bulldogs used a second-quarter corner to double their lead as Valentina Funes scored from the top of the circle at the 16:27 mark.
- Jordi Higgins added another Bryant goal with 9:01 left in the opening half to to create a three-goal cushion.
- The Terriers had the better of the play throughout the third quarter and were rewarded in the 41st minute.
- Hudson attacked from the right side and had a pass tipped by the Bryant goalkeeper but Fellner tracked down the loose ball and fired a shot towards the goal that Hudson tipped in to get BU on the board.
- Bryant quickly answered though with Catio earning her second of the game just 2:21 after BU's tally.Â
- Shots were hard to come by from there on out and the Bulldogs closed out their first-ever win over the Terriers.
- Sophomore Anna Wilson made her first career start in goal for the Terriers and made six saves, including three in the opening quarter.
- Maud va Lierop posted six saves for Bryant, while held a 16-12 shot advantage.
- The Bulldogs earned 11 corners to the Terriers' five but it was an even 5-5 over the final three quarters.
- BU will continue its road stretch on Sunday when it visits New Hampshire.
- Game time in Durham is set for noon.
