DURHAM, N.H. - The Boston University field hockey team ended a three-game skid with a 5-1 road victory over New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Field.

The Terriers used second-quarter goals from freshman Jenna Park and sophomore Molly Driscoll to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Sophomore Lucy Johnson pushed the lead to 3-0 early in the final quarter before graduate student Caroline O'Brien scored the final two goals of the day.

Sophomore Anna Wilson made five saves in goal for the Terriers, who improve to 3-5 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

UNH had the better of the play in the early stages and recorded the lone shot on goal of the opening quarter but Wilson came up with a save off a corner.
BU took control in the second quarter and scored twice in a span of under four minutes.
Park took a pass from senior Maggie Driscoll and maneuvered into the circle before creating space and drilling a reverse-stick shot to the top of the boards in the left corner of the cage at the 19:28 mark.
Some impressive stickwork from Molly Driscoll enabled the Terriers to double their lead as she collected a tipped pass from Johnson in the air and batted the ball past UNH netminder Kerigan Ross at 23:08.
BU took the 2-0 lead into the break and kept it throughout the third quarter.
Early in the fourth, BU earned back-to-back corners and scored off the latter to create a three-goal cushion.
A shot from the top of the circle by O'Brien was stopped but Johnson raced to the rebound and scored from the middle of the circle for her team-leading seventh goal of the season.
UNH ended the shutout bid with 10:45 to play off a corner goal by Abigail Johnson from the top of the circle.
The Terriers earned three corners in the final four minutes and scored off two of them to put the game away.
Senior Alex Purcell directed the ball towards the cage and O'Brien collected the ball in the middle of the circle before turning and firing a shot to the boards at the 57:07 mark.
In the final minute of play, senior Nicole Lauro received a corner insert and set up an open look for O'Brien, who drilled it home to create the 5-1 final.

GAME NOTES

BU outshot UNH, 17-11, and held an 11-9 edge in corners.
Wilson, making her second career start, had at least one save in each quarter.
Ross recorded four saves for the Wildcats.
Senior Bella Cloutier and sophomore Lily Johnson earned their first collegiate starts.
