How It Happened
- BU set the tempo early, controlling possession and applying pressure on Navy's defensive end.
- McKenna Kennedy got the first shot off in the 8th minute, flicking a header off Anna Heilferty's corner kick, though Navy's keeper snatched it to keep the Terriers off the board.
- The Terriers contained Navy's high-octane offense, as the Mids didn't get a shot off until the 35th minute.
- Shannon Keefe had the best look of the first frame, flicking a header off a serve from Ann Marie Jaworski that bounced off the left post in the 43rd minute.
- The second half featured both teams battling to find the back of the net, as BU launched six shots to Navy's three.
- With time winding down, Doyle worked her way past a pair of defenders and drove towards the center of the field, finding Kofton at the top of the 18-yard box.
- Kofton took a touch to her right before arcing a shot that landed just over the keeper's reach and under the crossbar for the game-winning goal.
- The Terriers furthered their undefeated in home conference active streak to 46 games, which leads the NCAA.
- BU improved to 7-2-0 all-time against the Mids.
- Friday marked the seventh one-goal game in the series.
- Morgan Messner earned her third shutout in between the pipes and made three saves over 90 minutes.
- BU has not allowed a goal in 449 minutes.
- BU will close out its non-conference slate at Harvard on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
