BU (3-3-4, 3-3-4 WHEA) earned three of four points against Vermont (2-7-4, 2-6-2 WHEA) this weekend and extended its unbeaten streak to three games.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont opened the scoring 10:42 into the proceedings when Maude Poulin-Labelle scored on a power play.
- Parker evened the score with 2:22 remaining in the first period with her second goal in as many games. On the ensuing faceoff after a BU penalty, Compher won the faceoff and Parker picked up the loose puck in the UVM zone. She then raced past two defenders before wristing a shot over Melissa Black's (23 saves) glove and underneath the crossbar.
- Compher gave the Terriers a 2-1 lead just 3:18 into the second stanza. Parker won a battle along the half-wall before dishing the puck to Davis. The tri-captain skated into the right circle before finding a wide-open Compher at the left circle for the goal.
- Alyssa Gorecki tied the game at 2-2 just 5:19 into the final frame.
- Davis regained the lead for BU at 8:31 of the period. She picked up a loose puck in front of her bench, then stickhandled past two defenders before backhanding a shot over Black's glove and into the top right corner for her seventh goal of the year.
- Vermont pulled Black in favor of an extra attacker with 1:49 remaining in regulation and equalized 18 seconds later when Eve-Audrey Picard lit the lamp
- Sophomore Corinne Schroeder (19 saves) stopped all three shots she faced in overtime to preserve the tie.
- Compher extended her point streak to seven games (5g, 9a) with her three-point effort.
- She has notched three points in two of the last three games and three times in total this year.
- Parker scored the team's third shorthanded goal of the season en route to a career-best two points.
- Saturday was the first time since Oct. 6 that BU allowed more than two goals.
- The Terriers will head to Chestnut Hill to face off against No. 4 Boston College on Tuesday night.
- Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
