BOSTON – Coming off a 7-0 home win over Bryant, the Boston University women's tennis team will resume Patriot League play against in-state foe Holy Cross on Thursday with doubles action slated to begin at 4:30 p.m.
The four-time defending Patriot League champion Terriers (4-4) are 1-0 in conference play after claiming an earlier 5-2 victory against Navy. They are also 2-0 at home with a 5-2 win over Big South member Liberty.During the dual season, freshman Katya Martens has a near-perfect 5-1 record with four wins at line 5, while junior Remi Ramos (#2) and freshman Lily Burchell have identical 5-3 marks. Senior Iryna Kostirko is next with a 4-4 record at line 1.
The Crusaders are 3-5 following victories over Clark (7-0), Mount Holyoke (5-4) and Wheaton (4-3). They own losses to both Providence (5-1) and Sacred Heart (7-0).
Thursday's contest is part of the Turnpike Trophy all-sports competition featuring the two schools. BU leads 11-4 after sweeping the Crusaders at both the PL Swimming & Diving and Indoor Track & Field Championships.
