Women's Basketball Heads to Holy Cross for Turnpike Trophy Tilt

BOSTON – Seeking its second straight win, the Boston University women's basketball will head to Holy Cross for a Turnpike Trophy matchup on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- BU snapped a six-game losing streak with a 66-64 overtime victory over Colgate on Wednesday.
- Nia Irving netted three straight baskets in the final two minutes of overtime and led the Terriers with 19 points and six rebounds.
- Colgate led by four points with 18 seconds left until Katie Nelson drilled a 3-pointer with 7.4 seconds to go and Naiyah Thompson connected from the free throw line to send the game into overtime.
- Three Terriers reached double-digit scoring figures for the second straight game as Sophie Beaudry (12) and Tenisha Pressley (10) also reached double digits.
- BU earned its first season sweep over Colgate since joining the Patriot League and improved to 2-0 in overtime games this season.
TURNPIKE TROPHY
- BU holds a 6-3 lead in this year's Turnpike Trophy series.
- The Terriers dominated with a 21-1 record in Turnpike Trophy games in 2016-17.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
- Holy Cross has dropped its last two contests, most recently falling to Navy, 62-54, on Wednesday.
- Lauren Manis notched 20 points and a career-high 20 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.
- Manis leads the Patriot League with 18.9 points per game and ranks fourth in both rebounding (9.2) and blocks per game (1.4).
- Infiniti Thomas-Waheed is right behind in both scoring (16.6) and rebounding (6.0).
- Thomas-Waheed is tied for seventh in the league in scoring averaging and is 12th in rebounding.
- Holy Cross ranks second in the league with 8.9 steals per game and third with 3.7 blocks per game.
- Head Coach Bill Gibbons is one win away from his 600th career victory.
THE SERIES
- Holy Cross holds the all-time series command, 14-5, and has won six of the nine matchups since BU joined the Patriot League.
- The Crusaders took the previous matchup, 60-57, on Jan. 13.
- Irving posted game highs of 21 points and eight rebounds, but Thomas-Waheed delivered the go-ahead layup with 32 seconds left and Holy Cross closed out the game from the free throw line.
- The Terriers will return to Case Gym on Wednesday, Feb. 14 for a 7 p.m. bout with American.
