Conolly Earns Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After helping Boston University keep its hopes alive for conference tournament berth, freshman Jodie Conolly has been named the Patriot League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Conolly recorded her first collegiate hat trick on Saturday in a must-win game at Holy Cross, capping her performance by scoring the game-winner with just over five minutes left in regulation.

All three goals came off corners with the first opening the scoring in the sixth minute. With BU trailing 3-2 in the third, Conolly once again came through on a corner in the 44th minute to even up the score.

The decisive goal came in the 55th minute as the South Africa native found the back of the net from the top of the circle to complete her stellar performance and move the Terriers into a tie for fourth place in the league standings.

This is Conolly's first weekly Patriot League award. She currently ranks second on the team in both points (17) and goals (7). Her five goals in conference play lead the team and rank third among all PL players.
