
Connolly & Conolly Receive NFHCA All-Region Honors

GILBERT, Ariz. - Two members of the Boston University field hockey team were recognized for their outstanding play this season as junior Ailsa Connolly earned a spot on the NFHFCA All-Northeast Region First Team and freshman Jodie Conolly received second-team honors.
Connolly was promoted to the top squad after being named to the All-Northeast Region Second Team last year as a sophomore. A three-time All-Patriot League selection, including a pair of first-team nods, Conolly led BU in all major statistical categories in 2019, scoring nine goals and adding five assists for 23 points. After three seasons, Connolly has accumulated 28 goals, which ties her for ninth all-time in program history.
Conolly, who becames the 12th Terrier to be earn conference Rookie of the Year status, turned in an impressive freshman season, leading the Terriers in scoring during Patriot League play with six goals and an assist for 13 points. Overall, the South Africa native finished second on the team in points (19) and goals (8) and added three assists. Conolly is the first BU freshman in 10 years to receive all-region accolades as a freshman.
During her Hall of Fame career, head coach Sally Starr has now seen 83 of her players have earn a combined 140 NFHCA All-Region selections.
The NFHCA All-American teams will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
