CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Three members of the Boston University field hockey team earned All-Patriot League honors for the 2019 season and freshman Jodie Conolly was tabbed the conference Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Junior Ailsa Connolly was selected to the All-PL First Team for the second consecutive year while senior co-captain Kiley Gallagher was a second-team pick for the third straight season and was joined by Conolly.
Conolly becomes the 12th Terrier to be named conference Rookie of the Year and the first since Amanda Cassera in 2013. The South Africa native finished second on the team in points (19) and goals (8) and added three assists. She led the Terriers in scoring during conference play, recording 13 points against PL opponents on the strength of six goals.
Connolly has now earned All-PL accolades in all three of her season as she was a second-team member as a freshman. She led BU in all major statistical categories in 2019, scoring nine goals and adding five assists for 23 points. After three seasons, Connolly has accumulated 28 goals, which ties her for ninth all-time in program history.
Gallagher closed out her career strong, as seven (3g, 1a) of her 11 points (4g, 3a) this season occurred during the final five games of the season. Over the course of her four seasons, she totaled 34 points on 11 goals and 12 assists in 79 career games, including 70 starts. She was selected to play in this year's NFHCA Division I Senior Game.
