HARTFORD – Facing off against UConn to cap a two-game road trip, the Boston University women's soccer team could not overcome a two-goal deficit as it fell, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at Dillon Stadium.
Ashley Raphael delivered her first career goal in the 83rd minute, lifting a one-timer from just inside the box under the crossbar to make it a one-goal game, but the Huskies responded in the closing minutes to secure the outcome.

- The Terriers had chances early on, serving three straight corner kicks between the 9th - 11th minute, but could not push one into the back of the net.
- BU had the momentum on its side, lining four of the first five shots of the match within the first 14 minutes of play.
- UConn turned the tide by winning a 50/50 ball at the midfield, where Kess Elmore received a through ball sliced between the backline, and placed the ball into the far right corner.
- Coming out of the break, the Huskies bust through the backline again in the 56th minute, as Yamilee Eveillard delivered another well-placed ball just inside the right post to make it a 2-0 game.
- Raphael struck with her first career goal in the 83rd minute, lofting a left-footed shot from 15 yards out just under the crossbar to make it a one-goal game.
- However, UConn reclaimed its two-goal lead just under three minutes later as Regan Schiappa put the final score at 3-1.
- Amanda Fay has made at least six saves in each of her three starts in net.
- BU has used a different starting lineup in all six games.
- Five of BU's eight shots for the game were on frame.
- For the second straight game, the Terriers could not convert on a penalty kick, missing a chance in the 80th minute.
- The Terriers will kickoff a four-game homestand, starting with Northeastern on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
