Miracle On Ice Month Kicks Off Friday at Agganis with Eruzione Book Signing
February 6, 2020 | Men's Ice Hockey
BOSTON – To honor the 40th anniversary of one of the greatest moments in sports history, the Boston University men's ice hockey program and Agganis Arena will kick off "Miracle on Ice Month" beginning Friday (Feb. 7) when the Terriers host Merrimack at 7:30 p.m.
It has been 40 years since Team USA stunned the world with its upset of the Soviet Union at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, N.Y. Four members of that team – known as "The BU Four" – played for Coach Jack Parker and the Terriers before embarking on an Olympic journey for the ages.
For the first time since BU honored them and their gold-medal performance at Walter Brown Arena in 1980, Jim Craig, Mike Eruzione, Jack O'Callahan and Dave Silk will reunite on campus when the Terriers host archrival Boston College on Saturday, Feb. 29 (7 p.m.).
Tomorrow at Agganis, Eruzione will be signing copies of his new book, "Making of a Miracle," in the concourse before the game and during the first intermission. He will be joined by co-author Neal Boudette (COM'84).
When the Terriers host UConn on Saturday, Feb. 22 (7 p.m.), it will mark 40 years to the day of the Miracle on Ice. To commemorate the anniversary, fans will receive a BUSA button.
For tickets to these or any of BU's five remaining home contests, visit AgganisArena.com.
