Men’s Hockey Places 11 on Hockey East All-Academic Team

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – The Boston University men's ice hockey team placed 11 of its student-athletes on the 2019-20 Hockey East All-Academic Team to set a new program record, as announced on Tuesday by the league office.

Senior Gabriel Chabot made the team for the second time in his career and was joined by 10 first-time honorees, including five freshmen.

Chabot, who was in a graduate program after earning a bachelor's degree in three years, was joined by fellow graduate students Alex Brink and Sam Tucker on the All-Academic Team. Senior captain Patrick Curry received the honor for the first time as did juniors Kasper Kotkansalo and Jake Witkowski.

The five freshman representatives on the team were Jamie Armstrong, Markus Boguslavsky, Sean Driscoll, Case McCarthy and Sam Stevens.

Student-athletes need to achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each semester to qualify for the award.
