Ellerton, Eddy Selected in 2020 NLL Draft

BOSTON - Graduate student Nicholas Ellerton and former Boston University men's lacrosse standout Reece Eddy were selected in the 2020 National Lacrosse League Draft on Thursday night.
Ellerton, who has returned to the Terriers this season as a graduate student, was taken by the New England Black Wolves with the 80th overall selection. Eddy went eight picks later to the Georgia Swarm at 88th overall. They are the first two Terriers in program history to be chosen in the NLL Draft.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Ellerton has started in every game over the last two seasons at close defense. He recorded career highs in ground balls (28) and caused turnovers (14) as a junior in 2019 and was off to another strong start as a senior captain in 2020 before the season was halted, having notched a caused turnover in each of the first five games. He has totaled 48 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers during his impressive career.
Eddy, one of just three players to be selected in the MLL, PLL and NLL drafts this year, just completed his rookie season with Chrome Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League. Named a finalist for the league's LSM of the Championship Series award, Eddy notched 13 ground balls and led all PLL rookies with five caused turnovers in five games. The 2020 Inside Lacrosse All-American also scored his first professional goal during his impressive debut campaign.
