November 2, 2021 | Field Hockey
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman Payton Anderson and juniors Rachel Borzymowski and Caroline Kelly of the Boston University field hockey team have all been named to the 2021 All-Patriot League Second Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Anderson was outstanding as a rookie striker for the Terriers, leading the squad in points (24), goals (10) and shots (53). She added four assists and the New Zealand native recorded at least one goal in half of BU's 18 contests. A two-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Anderson closed out the season with a season-best five points in a win at Holy Cross, tallying two goals and an assist.
This is the second year-end conference honor for Borzymowski, who was named to the 2020-21 Academic All-Patriot League Team last season. Borzymowski anchored the BU backline this season and she leads all Patriot League players in defensive saves this year with a six, a total that ranks tied for third nationally. She tallied her first career goal against Maine back on Oct. 3 and added her first assist as a Terrier in the season finale at Holy Cross.
Kelly turned in an impressive junior campaign in goal for the Terriers, posting a .729 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average. Her save percentage ranks 30th nationally and third amongst Patriot League netminders. She recorded six or more saves in 10 contests this fall and had three double-digit save performances, including a career-best 15 at Boston College on Sept. 15.
