No. 19 Terriers Return to TD Garden to Face Harvard in Beanpot Opener

BEANPOT NOTES
- The most successful team in Beanpot history, BU enters this year's tournament with an all-time record of 91-45 (.669).
- The Terriers are 29-16 (.644) against Boston College, 29-18 (.617) against Harvard and 33-11 (.767) versus Northeastern.
- BU has advanced to the championship game 54 times, including five of the last six tournaments, its best stretch since a 13-year run from 1995-2007.
- A win over Harvard on Monday will send the Terriers to the Beanpot title game for the 32nd time in the last 38 years.
- BU has been in the title game in 48 of the last 57 years.
- BU improved to 10-1-1 in its last 12 games with a 4-0 victory over Maine on Friday at Agganis.
- Making his first Agganis Arena start, sophomore Vinny Duplessis stopped all 27 shots he faced for his second career shutout.
- Junior Robert Mastrosimone tallied two goals and assisted on junior Wilmer Skoog's lacrosse goal for a three-point night while senior captain Logan Cockerill's first-period goal stood as the game-winner.
- Skoog has notched three goals in the last two games thanks to a two-goal effort in a 5-2 triumph over Providence on Jan. 30.
- Mastrosimone became the first Terrier to reach double figures in goals, notching his team-best 10th and 11th markers of the season on Friday night.
- He also leads BU with 21 points, one ahead of Skoog (9g, 11a) and assist leader Domenick Fensore (4g, 16a).
- Junior Matt Brown enters Monday on a seven-game point streak, having tallied four goals and five assists for nine points during that stretch.
- Brown has notched a point in nine of his last 10 games.
- Eighteen of the Terriers' 29 players have not played in a Beanpot contest.
- Two Terriers - Skoog in 2020 against BC and senior Ty Amonte in 2018 against Harvard - have scored an overtime winner in the semifinal round.
HISTORY WITH HARVARD
- BU and Harvard are the closest Division I hockey schools - from rink to rink - in the country, just 1.9 miles apart.
- BU-Northeastern is second at 2.1 miles while Brown-Providence is third at 2.6.
- The Terriers and Crimson have played 158 times since the 1922-23 season and the Terriers hold an 81-70-7 (.535) advantage.
- The Terriers defeated Harvard, 5-2, in their last meeting on Dec. 3, 2019, at Agganis Arena.
- Robert Mastrosimone lit the lamp while Ethan Phillips and Jamie Armstrong each had one assist.

- Mitchell Gibson has started all 17 games in which he has appeared, posting a .911 save percentage and a 2.09 GAA.
