The No. 16 Boston University men's ice hockey team will travel to Hartford on Saturday to face UConn in a Hockey East quarterfinal matchup at the XL Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
This will be the fourth meeting this season between the fifth-seeded Terriers and the fourth-seeded Huskies. BU went 2-1-0 against UConn, with both wins coming at XL Center. In the season opener on Oct. 8, juniors Sam Stevens and Robert Mastrosimone scored in the third period to help BU rally for a 2-1 win. Then, on Jan. 14, junior Jay O'Brien lit the lamp just eight seconds into overtime to lift the Terriers to another 2-1 victory.
BU and UConn faced off in the 2018 Hockey East quarterfinals, with the Terriers earning a pair of one-goal victories at Agganis Arena to sweep the Huskies. Like this year, that 2018 series was the 4-5 matchup in the league tournament.
