
Three Terriers Advance to ITA Super Regionals

ALLSTON, Mass. – After competing at the ITA Northeast Regionals at Harvard this weekend, three members of the Boston University women's tennis team advanced to the ITA Super Regionals.
Senior Kaitlin Tan won three singles matches to earn her place at the Super Regionals later this month. After a first-round bye, she took down opponents from Boston College, Harvard and Buffalo to advance. Her win over BC took place in straight sets while her wins over Harvard and Buffalo came in a super tiebreak after she came back to win the second set.
Senior Victoria Carlsten and junior Michelle Kleynerman also qualified for super regionals in singles due to their records. They did not have to play in the regional event at Harvard.
Also picking up a win in singles on the weekend was freshman Uma Bakaityte. She topped her opponent from Niagara in straight sets to advance to the third round where she was eliminated.
BU will play its next tournament at the Brown Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 14.
