BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team will be adding nine newcomers to its roster for the upcoming season as eight freshmen and one transfer with be joining the program, as announced by head coach
Sally Starr.
The freshman class includes players from five different states and Argentina while Pennsylvania native Caroline O'Brien will now wear the scarlet and white after competing at Wake Forest last season.
"We are thrilled to welcome this bright and very talented group of players to BUFHA," said Starr. "This is our largest incoming class since our first year in the Patriot League 10 years ago and we're really looking forward to having them all here on campus soon. It will also be special to have the honor of coaching the daughter of one of my former players here at BU."

Bella Bergner
Louisville, Ky. – Assumption
Reached three state title games at Assumption, winning championships as a senior and as a freshman … Named to All-State First Team both of those seasons and was a second-team selection as a junior … Four-time Academic All-State honoree and earned scholar-athlete recognition each of the past three years … Twice named an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction … Named to NFHCA Senior Impact Team … Won U19 gold medal at NIT with IFHCK … Three-time Festival and Shooting Star Thanksgiving gold medalist … NCC qualifier five straight years.
Bella Cloutier
South Portland, Maine – Northfield Mount Hermon
Two-time All-NEPSAC honoree … Named a WNEPSFHA All-Star both seasons at Northfield Mount Hermon … Played first two seasons at Cheverus High School, winning Team MVP honors a freshman while twice earning all-conference honors … Defensive Player of the Year at Cheverus as a sophomore … Member of Coastal Field Hockey Club … Also plays ice hockey ... Her mother, Sally, is a member of the BU Athletic Hall of Fame and was a two-time All-American in field hockey.
