BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team (1-2) returns home to face Dartmouth on Sunday (Sept. 6). Game time at New Balance Field is set for 1 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are coming off a 5-1 loss at No. 11 Massachusetts on Friday
- Graduate student Maddie Hudson, who has missed three full seasons due to injury, recorded her first tally as a Terrier in the season opener and had the lone tally on Friday at UMass.
- Sophomore Lucy Johnson scored the first four goals of her career last weekend, posting two in each game en route to Patriot League Forward of the Week honors.
- Senior Alex Purcell was tabbed the Patriot League Defender of the Week after collecting three assists on the weekend and helping the Terriers limit the Warriors to just three shot attempts.
- Freshman Jenna Park scored in the second minute of her collegiate career and then assisted on Johnson's final goal of the weekend to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Week accolades.
- Graduate student Caroline O'Brien is back after one of the best offensive seasons in program history, leading the 2025 Patriot League champions in points (37), goals (15) and assists (7).
- O'Brien and senior Nicole Lauro were named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team and joined senior Olivia Hammer, senior Maggie Driscoll and sophomore Molly Driscoll on the 2026 NFHCA Collegiate Watchlist.
- Senior Sophie Ortyl earned 17 starts in goal last season and tied a career high with 10 saves against the Friars last Sunday.
- BU was selected to finish third in the Patriot League preseason poll behind American and Lafayette.
- Hudson and Maggie Driscoll are serving as co-captains for the 2026 season.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
- Jason Klinkradt is in his first season as the Big Green's head coach.
- Dartmouth will be playing in its season opener after a 2025 campaign where it posted a 4-12 record including an 0-7 mark in Ivy League play.
- Ella Hudson returns for her senior year after leading last year's squad in points with 15 (5g, 5a).
- Hudson, classmate Lucia Campaňo and junior Amelie Luessman all shared the team lead in goals last season with five apiece.
- Dartmouth will enter the year with a new primary goalkeeper after the graduation of Ava Carlson, who started all 16 games last season.
SERIES HISTORY
- BU is 11-1 in 12 all-time meetings with Dartmouth.
- The teams last met in 2011 when the Terriers earned a 2-1 win in Hanover.
LOOKING AHEAD
- BU will return to action on Friday (Sept. 11) when it visits Brown
- Game time is set for 3 p.m.
