BOSTON – With just two games remaining in the regular season, the Boston University women's soccer team travels to American on Saturday (Oct. 26). Opening kick at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Md. is set for 1 p.m.

BU (4-7-5, 4-0-3 PL), who clinched a spot in the 2024 Patriot League Tournament, is currently atop the Patriot League table with Bucknell (9-4-2, 5-2-0 PL) with 15 points. The Terriers remain the lone program unbeaten in conference play across the Patriot League.

American (6-5-2, 2-4-1 PL) looks to gain ground, entering Friday in a three-way tie with Holy Cross and Navy for seventh place with seven points. The Eagles are playing their home matches at the Maryland SoccerPlex this year while their home field undergoes renovations.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU most recently defeated Bucknell 1-0 during Senior Day on Sunday (Oct. 20), the first win over the Bison in exactly six years.
Freshman Juliana Osterman scored her first-career goal on a give-and-go play with sophomore Kaiya Stewart in the 40th minute.
Rookie goalkeeper Bridget Carr collected three saves for her second-consecutive shutout.
With the pair of clean sheets in a 2-0-0 week for the Terriers, Carr was tabbed as the Patriot League's Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week on Monday (Oct. 21).
Four different Terriers have won a total of six weekly awards this year: Carr (two) Margy Porta, Giulianna Gianino (two), and Jaiden Schultz.
With a win on Saturday, the Terriers would guarantee a top-three seed in the postseason.
In Patriot League play this year, the Terriers are 2-0-2, with a scoring margin of 8-4 in the four contests.
BU's 1.43 scoring margin in Patriot League play paces the conference.
Three Terriers rank inside the top-10 in points per league game: Porta ( T-3rd – 1.57), Gianino (5th – 1.43) and Stewart (T-7th – 1.00).
BU is one of 25 Division I teams in the country that have not lost a conference match this year.

SCOUTING AMERICAN

The Eagles have won two contests in a row, defeating Navy 1-0 and Lehigh 2-0.
American is just 1-3 in home matches this year, but 5-2-2 on the road.
Lailah Stewart paces the Eagles with five goals, four assists, and 14 points. Addison Roemer has played the majority of minutes in goal to the tune of a 1.42 goals-against average and .681 save percentage.
The Eagles were projected to finish ninth in the Patriot League preseason poll.
Last year, American went 3-9-4 on the year and 3-5-1 against Patriot League foes.

SERIES HISTORY

Saturday marks the 12th all-time meeting between BU and American in a series that began in 2010.
BU sports a 9-0-2 edge in the rivalry, and is riding a four-game winning streak.
The scoring margin in the series is 26-3 in the Terriers' favor.
On the road, BU is 2-0-2, with the scoring margin at 4-2.
In last year's meeting, the Terriers triumphed 4-0 on Oct. 21. Natalie Godoy scored two goals, while Lily Matthews added three assists.
