November 5, 2024 | Field Hockey
BETHLETHEM, Pa. - Senior Payton Anderson, junior Martu Coulo and sophomore Nicole Lauro all received 2024 All-Patriot League honors on Tuesday following a vote from the league's head coaches. Anderson and Coulo were named to the All-Patriot League First Team while Lauro received second-team recognition.
Anderson becomes just the third Terrier to earn All-PL honors in four seasons, joining Sofi Laurito '16 and Hester van der Laan '17. This is her third straight first-team selection after being named to the second team as a freshman. Coulo made her first-team debut after being on the second team as a sophomore and freshman. The is the first All-PL honor of Lauro's career.
Anderson continues to move up the Terriers' all-time scoring lists as she enters the Patriot League tournament with 77 career points on 34 goals and nine assists. Her point total is 10th all-time at BU while she sits in fifth place on the career goals list. During the regular season, Anderson put team highs of 10 goals, 21 points and 47 shots with three of her goals being game-winners.
Coulo has shown her playmaking abilities both in the midfield and up front during her junior season and has three assists this season while Lauro, who was named to USA Field Hockey's U21 Selection Camp earlier this year, has tallied a goal and an assist this fall.
The Terriers will open the Patriot League tournament on Thursday (Nov. 7) when they visit top-seeded American in the semifinal round. Game time in the nation's capital is set for 11 a.m.
