Celebrini Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshman Macklin Celebrini of the Boston University men's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Celebrini is now a five-time recipient of this award, including two straight and four of the last five weeks. He scored more goals than any other player in the NCAA last week, tallying two of his three goals in the Terriers' Beanpot semifinal win over No. 1 Boston College. Celebrini added an assist to lead Hockey East with four points.

The 17-year-old Celebrini scored his NCAA-leading 23rd goal of the season on Monday against Northeastern. He has lit the lamp in six straight games and in 10 of his last 11 appearances. Celebrini also remained second in the country with 1.62 points per game after extending his point streak to six games (7g, 3a) against the Huskies. He currently averages 1.62 points per game, which ranks second in the nation.
