ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Thanks to an impressive showing in the 3-meter dive competition, the Boston University women's swimming & diving team stands in first place after the opening day of the 2024 Patriot League Championships, hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall.

Junior Sophia Souza repeated as Patriot League champion in the 3-meter dive, posting a score of 296.0, while senior Sumi Cameron was runner-up with a score of 292.7. The Terriers held five of the top 13 places in the event as senior Karina Moy reached the finals and placed sixth and sophomore Rena Ho and junior Marina Cataldo took 11th and 13th, respectively, ine the B final.

The event produced 114 points for the Terriers, helping them lead the way on opening night with 214 points as the two relays combined for 100. BU will enter Thursday 11 points ahead of second-place Navy and 45 points clear of third-place Bucknell.

The 200-yard medley relay was the first race of the competition and the Terriers tied their school record that was set at this season's Terrier Invite as senior Lara Mitchell, senior Clarissa Hoyt, senior Madison Kim and freshman Han Hoang matched their previous best of 1:41.16. That time was good for fourth place, just shy of a podium finish.
