BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team will close out its regular season with a home-and-home series against No. 11 UConn beginning on Friday (Feb. 23) at Walter Brown Arena for the Terriers' Senior Night.
Friday's game at Walter Brown Arena will start at 6 p.m. while Saturday's contest against the Huskies begins at 3 p.m. Both games will be available on ESPN+.
BU enters the weekend in sixth place in the Hockey East standings and can finish anywhere between fifth and seventh. The Huskies sit atop the league standings and need just two points to clinch the regular-season title.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is coming off a road sweep of Vermont and Merrimack by scores of 4-1 and 4-0, respectively.
- The Terriers are averaging 5.9 shots more per game than their opponents this season. At this time last year, BU had a minus-8.0 shot differential, resulting in a plus-13.9Â swing one year later.
- Senior Lacey Martin leads the team in both goals (14) and points (27) and was one of three Terriers to record four points last weekend.
- Linemates sophomore Clara Yuhn (9g, 13a) and senior Catherine Foulem (11g, 11a) were the other two and they have each recorded 18 points this season.
- Yuhn was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday after tallying two goals in the Merrimack win after earning two assists at Vermont.
- Graduate student Nadia Mattii (3g, 14a) and sophomore Sydney Healey (7g, 7a) have added 17 and 14 points, respectively.
- Graduate student Alexa Matses (5-7-1, 2.54, .898) and freshman Mari Pietersen (5-2-1, 2.85, .864) shared time in goal for the first three months of the season but junior Callie Shanahan (2-5-1, 2.29, .910) returned from injury in January and has started in 10 of the past 13 games and has two shutouts in her past four starts.
- Shanahan was tabbed the Hockey East Co-Goaltender of the Week after stopping 44 of 45 shots last weekend.Â
- Led by Mattivi and senior Tamara Giaquinto (4g, 9a), BU has four of the top 20 defenders in Hockey East in points this season.
- The Terriers are second in Hockey East in penalty kill at 91.8%, which is tied for third in the nation.
- The Terriers are also second in the league in faceoff percentage at 53.1%, which ranks 12th in the country.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- UConn had a 12-game unbeaten streak (9-0-3) come to an end last Saturday in a 3-0 road loss to Vermont.
- The Huskies have a five-point lead over Northeastern entering the weekend for the top spot in Hockey East.
- Senior Jada Habisch leads a balanced scoring attack with 24 points on 14Â goals and 10Â assists.
- Graduate student Coryn Tormala has put up 23 points on the strength of a team-best 18 assists while sophomore Brooke Campbell (9g, 8a) and junior Riley Grimley (8g, 9a) have contributed 13 points apiece.
- The Huskies' goaltenders have combined for a .945Â save percentage, which ranks second in Hockey East.Â
- Junior Megan Warrener suffered her first loss of the season (12-1-1) against Vermont and her 1.01 goals-against average leads the nation while her .951 save percentage is tied for third.
SERIES HISTORY VS. UCONN
- BU is 31-16-9 all-time against the Huskies, including a 16-7-5 record at Walter Brown Arena.
- BU is 14-9-4 in Storrs against UConn.Â
