Terriers Defeated by No. 28 FIU

MIAMI - The Boston University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 28 FIU on Wednesday afternoon. In the loss, BU picked up a win in the middle of the doubles lineup and forced close matches in singles.
Freshmen Blanka DeMicheli and Uma Bakaityte teamed at line two in doubles. The pair earned a dominant 6-2 win but FIU took the victory on the remaining two courts.
In singles, senior Victoria Carlsten played a close match with No. 56 Oyinlomo Quadre. Carlsten dropped the first set 7-5 and forced her second set to a tiebreak but ultimately fell 7-6 (4). Also playing a close match was senior Kaitlin Tan who lost in a 7-5, 6-3 decision.
The Terriers continue their Florida trip with a match at Lynn on Friday. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
