Women's Tennis Takes Down Lafayette, 4-0

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The top-seeded Boston University women's tennis team blanked No. 8 Lafayette 4-0 in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Friday morning at Navy's Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium. With the win, BU advances to the semifinals and will face No. 5 Lehigh, a 4-1 victor over No. 4 Loyola Maryland.
In doubles, freshmen Uma Bakaityte and Blanka DeMicheli continued to dominate at the top of the lineup with a 6-0 win. At the No. 2 spot, senior Kaitlin Tan and sophomore Emily Zhao picked up an efficient 6-1 win to secure the doubles point.
Bakaityte won 6-3, 6-2 at line two to grab the first singles point. She was followed by Tan, who battled back from a first set loss to win 4-6, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Ellie Gyuro clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 6 spot to help BU advance in the tournament.
BU will battle Lehigh for a spot in the PL Final on Saturday (April 20) at 10 a.m. The Terriers won the regular season meeting against the Mountain Hawks, 4-0, a week prior with Army West Point serving as host. The two teams have never faced off before in the PL tournament.
