Women’s Tennis Drops 5-2 Result to Syracuse

WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team (2-3) fell to Syracuse 5-2 on Saturday evening at the Winchester Tennis Club. After dropping the doubles point, BU picked up two wins in singles during the match.
Despite losing the doubles point, senior Nina Gulbransen and junior Emily Zhao won 6-3 at line three.
Zhao carried her momentum into singles with an efficient 6-3, 6-1 win at line five to give BU its first point of the day, cutting into Syracuse's lead, 2-1. Syracuse went on to clinch the match before BU picked up its second point. Freshman Madison Liu won 7-6 (5), 7-6 (6) at the No. 4 spot to bring the final match score to Syracuse 5, BU 2.
The Terriers play next on Friday, Feb. 21, when they face Stony Brook at the Winchester Tennis Club. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
