April 7, 2025 | Softball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After earning three victories, Boston University softball junior Kasey Ricard repeated as Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
The Littleton, Massachusetts, native went 3-1 in four appearances with a 0.98 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 21.1 innings of work. She held opponents to a .164 batting average to earn her third PL Pitcher of the Week award this season and 13th overall, one shy of tying Ali DuBois ('21) for the most ever claimed by a Terrier.
During the Turnpike Trophy series sweep at Holy Cross, Ricard recorded a combined nine strikeouts over eight innings in Friday's doubleheader. She limited the Crusaders to one hit in the 11-1 (5) victory and then entered in relief for a 6-1 victory after she allowed just two hits and an unearned run.
In the final contest, she went the distance with four strikeouts against five hits and just one run allowed to post a second consecutive 6-1 win. During the first game of the week, she pitched six scoreless innings before host Providence pulled away with three runs off three hits and a costly error in the seventh.
Ricard ranks second nationally in innings pitched (157.2), second in victories (17), 11th in strikeouts (151) and 12th in shutouts (4).
The Terriers will next visit Boston College on Wednesday (April 9) at 3 p.m.
