BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freshman Gabriella Mikaul of the Boston University women's tennis team was selected as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and joins sophomore Uma Bakaityte and freshman Madison Liu in earning All-Patriot League honors, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Mikaul, who was previously named the Patriot League Tournament MVP, earned eight wins in singles during the spring season with her win in the Patriot League title match helping BU take a 3-2 lead. She owns two wins at the top singles spot with the other six coming at line two. In doubles, Mikaul boasts 12 wins alongside sophomore Uma Bakaityte, all in the top spot. Mikaul is the third consecutive Terrier to be chosen as the league rookie of the year with Bakaityte (2024) and junior Emily Zhao (2023) having received the honor. The freshman was also named to the First Team All-Patriot League for her efforts.
 
Bakaityte was also selected to the First Team All-Patriot League. In addition to her 12 doubles wins, she owns 10 singles wins for the Terriers in dual matches all at the top of the lineup. Bakaityte was named the Patriot League player of the week on April 22 after winning her doubles and singles matches in BU's regular season finale against Army West Point. This is her second career First-Team All-Patriot League selection.
 
Freshman Madison Liu was the lone Terrier to make the Second Team All-Patriot League. Her 11-8 singles record in dual matches and 11 doubles wins made her a steady force at lines three and two, respectively. The freshman led BU in dual match singles wins and was named the Patriot League player of the week on Feb. 25 after going a combined 3-0 in dual matches against Colgate and Stony Brook.
